THURSDAY
ANOTHER REGULAR DAY

John Kolvenbach's On an Average Day, which sold out in its first run in Los Angeles, debuts at Chicago's Greenhouse Theater, 2257 Lincoln Ave., tonight. An affordable ticket will get you a seat for a performance that critics have described as intense, passionate and brilliantly acted.

FRIDAY
FILM FESTIVAL AT SISKEL

The Siskel Film Center, 164 N. State St., begins its 14th annual Black Harvest International Festival of Film and Video, which runs through the end of August. Screenings include an advance look at HBO's The Black List, Vol. 1 and Trouble The Water, set in post-Katrina New Orleans.

SATURDAY
POST-FEST INDIE ROCK

Just one of several post-festival concerts happening around the city this weekend as hundreds of artists descend on Chicago for Lollapalooza, Margot & the Nuclear So and So's will thrill Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western Ave., patrons with their reflective, heart-on-sleeve melodies.

SUNDAY
A NIGHT AT THE OPERA

Visit the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St., to see a production of Djamileh take place beneath the Center's recently restored Louis Comfort Tiffany stained-glass dome. The opera, which will be performed in English, is the work of Georges Bizet, the man behind Carmen.
