The Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project will return from Aug. 9-16 for the third consecutive year. Part of NU's Summer Music Theatre Festival 2008, the project is cosponsored by the Johnny Mercer Foundation and NU's American Music Theatre Project.

The project consists of a weeklong educational project for 18 to 30 year old songwriters and songwriting teams from all popular music genres. These classes and workshops will feature prominent American songwriters and singers who will serve as faculty members. Visiting faculty for this year's program include Lari White, Andrew Lippa and Craig Carnelia.
