Evanston Northwestern Healthcare may be considering a name change.
The academic health system with hospitals in Evanston, Glenbrook, and Highland Park has agreed to discontinue its affiliation with Northwestern University, ending a 78-year relationship.
As a result, 800 NU faculty members and 200 students will be phased out of faculty and residency positions in the next year and transferred to other facilities coordinated by McGaw Medical Center, the consortium of Northwestern-affiliated clinics and hospitals.…

Young begins as associate provost for faculty affairs
James B. Young, M.D. began his tenure Tuesday as the associate provost for faculty affairs after stepping down from his former positions as Northwestern professor of medicine and Feinberg School of Medicine dean for faculty affairs.

NU to Offer MFA in Creative Writing
Starting in Sept. 2008, Northwestern will offer, for the first time, a Master of Fine Arts program for students who write poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction.
A part-time, evening MFA program will allow students to write a longer thesis, closer to book length, than the part-time MA program.…
