An ode to a dynasty:
O lacrosse, how you wow us with your glory. You have given us four NCAA crowns in as many years, each of them a beautiful gem to be cherished forever. We have joined together to shower you with praise, for you have shown us, your humble fans, the most righteous of paths through your divine dominance.
How your fans doth flock to Lakeside Field to cheer your excellence, and the clock tower gloweth purple in its approval of your overwhelming greatness.
So often do you embarrass the competition, what with your 83 victories in four years vastly outweighing three measly defeats, none of them remotely significant. And how, when your supremacy is tested, you do dispatch of your foes so effortlessly, so forcefully, that we are compelled to praise your excellence.
Kelly Amonte Hiller, our lacrosse savior, and her prophets Hannah Nielsen, Hilary Bowen, Christy Finch and Morgan Lathrop have given us lowly Northwestern students a source of pride. And though we shall miss the likes of Finch and her fellow seniors, we have strong faith in the future of this program.
O, coach Amonte Hiller, how your players doth shine on the playing field. How they lift the student body, uniting it in collective awe of the Wildcats' awesome power.
We believe in the power of Amonte
Hillerism and all the wondrous joy it can provide. Should the Cats falter for a game in 2009, we shall not fret. For we know that they will ultimately lead us to the promised land of a fifth title, and to everlasting glory as the greatest dynasty ever to walk the Earth.
And let us say: Go U (NU).
