Film students create $40,000 live-action short movie

Given 10 minutes and $40,000 in funding, Northwestern film students managed to pack in 111 visual effects shots, a giant computer-generated robot and Laguna Beach star Talan Torriero. The result is "Hangar No. 5," a student-written, directed and produced live-action short funded by NU student-run production company Studio 22, the School of Communication Dean's Advisory Council, University President Henry Bienen and several outside investors.…

NUCH1 to revamp broadcasts, advertise for student events

NU's only student television station hopes to get the attention of students now relying on NU Link or other sources for updated information on events, speakers and performances. NU will not renew Roycemore lease

Roycemore School, a private school adjacent to Northwestern's campus, will have a new home by 2014. The school, 640 Lincoln St., was built in 1915 on land owned and leased by NU. The 99-year lease ends in June 2014 and will not be extended by NU to accommodate the university's need for extra space.…

Third Eye Blind will headline Dillo Day lineup

Nineties alternative rockers Third Eye Blind will be the Dillo Day daytime headliner this year, Mayfest's executive board announced Thursday. Suitcase party benefits Christopher House

About 50 students gathered in the luau-themed Louis Room Thursday night for an evening of music, dance and Hawaiian Punch pong at the annual Suitcase Party. Over the past year, students in two management courses have provided consultation for an unusual client, free of charge: Associated Student Government. ASG used advice from last winter's Industrial Engineering Systems Project Management Class and a course on advertising and brand management in considering new ways to make itself more relevant to students and lobby the administration on long-anticipated projects.…
