Rock band Counting Crows will perform at the A&O Ball at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago, A&O Productions Chairman Alex White said.
Known for its 1994 hit "Mr. Jones," the Counting Crows were A&O's first choice of bands for the ball, White said. Counting Crows is listed on Facebook as one of students' top 10 favorite bands, he said. (The band was #10 in the Northwestern network on Sunday morning.)
"They're famous for their high-energy, live shows and it's a band that's been around for many years," said White, a SESP senior. "We've all grown up listening to them."
Tickets for the show cost $15 and will go on sale April 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the Norris Box Office.
A&O enacted a stricter ticket policy for this performance than its previous shows: Each student can bring only one Wildcard and purchase no more than two tickets. Buses will provide free transportation to the Riviera Theatre.
