Claire Lew was elected Associated Student Government president Wednesday after earning 67.1 percent of the vote.
Lew, a SESP junior, learned of her victory at 7:52 p.m., just more than 45 minutes after polls closed, from Election Commission Chairman Jeff Cao. Weinberg sophomore Hiro Kawashima will be Lew's vice president.
SESP sophomore Alessio Manti and sophomore Adam Thompson-Harvey received 29 percent.
In all, 3,424 students voted in the presidential race. Lew will take office next Wednesday at ASG Senate's weekly meeting.
McCormick sophomore Katie Bradford will serve as student life vice president after winning 53.5 percent of the vote. Her opponent, Weinberg freshman Jonathan Friedman took 27.5 percent.
The academic vice president race is headed to a runoff after Weinberg sophomore Gabby Daniels garnered 41.6 percent of the vote and Weinberg junior Zach Wittchow got 37.3 percent.
More than 600 students, or 19.5 percent, chose no confidence.
The runoff, which is necessary because neither candidate received a majority of the votes, will take place Friday.
