Change is in the air. Fall is turning into winter; classes are ending. The next Weekly won’t print until January, and someone else will be in charge.
For our last issue of the year, then, there are plenty of changes to commemorate and celebrate. Before the seasons really change, make sure to take advantage of fall pumpkin-flavored delicacies around town (this page). Also local, head to the MCA to see the First Friday rotating exhibits, including a chameleonic installation that the longer you watch it, the more different it looks (p. 6).
There’s also a lot of shifting going on around campus, with the identities of the residential buildings changing so much, it’s probably not worth trying to transfer no matter where you ended up (p. 4-5). Speaking of facades, the university likes to put on a pretty face when it comes to promotional materials, whether or not they truly reflect the student body (p. 7).
Since Thanksgiving is coming up, maybe you want to try something new and cook for yourself for a change. If so, our Peer Adviser can really help you out (this page). If anyone’s celebrating change, it’s our Man on the Beat from Kenya, who really appreciates what the new president-elect represents (p. 8).
Whatever change it may bring, don’t forget to ring in the New Year before we see you next.
