For those students who had Northwestern as their first choice and got in, that's awesome. For those students out there who didn't get into their first choice... DEAL WITH IT! You go to Northwestern - so go buy some purple. From now on Fridays will be Purple Fridays, and Saturdays are going to be Purple Haze. That means wear purple Northwestern gear on both days. I don't care if you don't have a purple Northwestern shirt - get one!

The football team will be at the Rock this Friday, trading other college shirts for NU shirts for free. If you can't stop by the Rock, go to Norris or Beck's and buy one - they're less than 15 dollars! That's less than what you would probably spend at Hundo or the Keg on a given night. And if you can't do either of those - then just wear something purple!

I won't lie, I myself have sometimes worn another university's shirt - but never during football season or on game day. But I am officially putting away that shirt because Tyrell Sutton is right: We should wear our own schools merchandise and not other Big Ten paraphernalia. We shouldn't see someone decked out in another school's colors, especially other Big Ten schools. I'm talking to you, the girl who was wearing an orange hat, orange shirt and orange hoodie!

Then there are those few of you who think you are "hard" or "cool" because you wear the opposing school colors in the NU student section - you're an idiot! Do that somewhere else!

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that all NU students are at fault. There are those students who go to all the games (not just football) and wear purple; we should follow their example. If this sounds like a rant - good - because that's exactly what this is!

The bottom line: on Friday, wear purple! On Saturday, go to the game in purple! And for those who whine about not getting a "Big Ten" experience... go to the game! GO 'CATS!
