Last Wednesday, ASG passed an amendment requiring all senators to hold office hours once a week ("New bill requires senators to hold office hours, open forums," Nov. 13). It sounds like a good idea in theory, but at the same time, it makes me question the dedication of the people representing us. These senators run for office every year promising to listen to all our ideas, so I find it odd that they've decided to limit our interaction with them to just one hour a week.

Admittedly, that is probably enough time for most of us students to express our concerns, but why should we have to adjust our schedules to accommodate the oh-so-important senators? Shouldn't they be the ones accommodating us? Instead of making rules to benefit themselves and their egos, maybe ASG ought to go back to focusing on the students.
